April is such a fickle month, you are thinking Spring and then this week we have had 2 snow storms! There has been the shelter in place rules due to the Covid 19 virus; you wonder well…what else!

Times such as these require us to be people of resilience and hope. We ultimately are not in control, though I know we want to think we are :). Life is a lot of twists and turns and we best be ready for the ride!

Life on the Prairie has been a twisted road these past few years as well. Both Rob and I have had health issues along with Rob’s job changes to the city of Chicago. That left us (the poodles, myself and Dawn) alone on the Prairie during the week. The road can be paved or gravel, makes no difference when the wind of change comes blowing your way!

The wind is from the south for us. Rob was laid off and so….he was able to get a wonderful job in Tulsa, Ok. That is just not a workable weekend visit location. After much weighing in on the pro’s and con’s it has been decided that we will leave our Prairie for a life On Golden Pond. We just purchased a home in Claremore, OK. It’s on a smaller acreage, with a wonderful pond that the poodles can dock jump anytime. My body is telling me, it is time for a warmer climate as well.

What does this mean for Winters Wind Poodles? The only change is the address. I plan on my late summer and fall litters. Life on the Poodle Ranch will continue; only the temps will be warmer! I bought a paddle board! Yes, a new adventure even for me! I will miss my Prairie sunrises and sunsets, but look forward to evenings on our dock, watching my poodle swim, and the sunset reflected On Golden Pond.

Stay tuned for our new adventures in the land of Will Rodgers!
